Photo Janusz Olejniczak – a distinguished Polish pianist, today also highly regarded as a pedagogue and a specialist in playing Chopin`s music.
Graduate of the State Higher School of Music in Warsaw. Pupil of teachers of renowned internationally: Ryszard Bakst, Zbigniew Drzewiecki and Barbara Hesse-Bukowska.
The turning-point in his career was his participation in the 8 th Chopin Competition in Warsaw in 1970 at which he won sixth prize. He was then only 18. Then came further successes, also on European platforms, among them at the Alfred Cassella Competition in Naples in 1971.
Now he is regarded as an authority on the interpretation of Chopin`s music. Apart from that he is open to any ideas in the sphere of music. In 1990, he played the role of Chopin in Andrzej Żulawski`s film entitled "The Blue Note".
His recording output includes numerous of records with Chopin`s music, released in Poland and abroad, all of them regarded as very valuable both by the critics and music lovers.
